About

Oh, haaaay! I’m Nora and this is my blog.

I’m an aspiring writer, a ____ and a ______.

I just graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with degrees in Media Studies and Public Policy. I’m currently living in San Francisco and working long hours for a local non-profit organization. In my spare time, you can find me running, coaching t-ball or bingeing on bad reality TV (Toddlers & Tiaras, anyone?)

Great, but what’s this blog about?

Well, it’s about life …and sports. (Which if you ask me, are kind of the same thing.)

I love sports and hope to someday work for one of my favorite teams. As a lifelong athlete and a devoted fan, I believe strongly in the power of sports to improve people’s lives and to strengthen communities.  I write about my favorite teams, my favorite athletes and current issues impacting the world of sports. My goal is to make sports fun and accessible for even the most casual and fan. Occasionally, I let my nerdy side shine and I write about things like sports policy and law, but you’ll also find posts about my friends, my family and my day-to-day adventures as a twenty-something living in the big city.

What’s with the name?

The simple answer is that it’s a tribute to two of my all-time favorite athletes – Jim Thome and Mia Hamm. They wear/wore numbers 25 and 9, respectively. You can read more about the story behind my blog here.
